Wedding on a Budget AZ

When I initially began the process of planning a wedding, I quickly became discouraged by both the prices of the typical venues along with the lack of a package that would meet the needs and expectations of a traditional wedding. I spent weeks browsing multiple websites to the point that it seemed I was looking at the same stuff over and over again. Then I stumbled on to weddingonabudgetaz.com. The name of the site immediately caught my eye since as a result of the current economic situation I was going to be responsible for the entire cost of my own wedding. Price was absolutely one of the main considerations, while I still wanted by friends, family and most importantly, my bride, to enjoy what becomes one of the most important days of your life together. I was drawn to the all-inclusive package that Becky offered, but it still seemed too good to be true. I sent an email request, not really sure what to expect. Shortly thereafter, I was greeted with a call from Becky. I briefly discussed with her the frustrations I had up to this point along, with the realization that I might not be able to have the “dream” wedding that I was hoping for with my budget. She assured me that through her experiences in the wedding planning industry that for an amount that I can assure you is well below what other venues will charge you for the same or even less. She asked when we could get together and was willing to meet us the same week. I forgot to mention above that because of the financial constraints, we did not even begin the planning process until May…for a September wedding. Becky assured me that despite the short notice that we could have all the glitz and glamour that is normally reserved for those people with the ability to spend tens of thousands of dollars on their wedding. She understood that our resources were limited, but wanted to make sure that our wedding day was one to remember. Only a small deposit was required to secure our date and her services. This gave us time to get all of our finances together for the final payment, but more importantly gave us flexibility in case we needed to cover unforeseen costs that life invariably throws your way. Admittedly, because her package cost was so low, all the friends and family that I mentioned our plans to were skeptical of how the wedding would turn out. The same day that we hired Becky, she gave us a folder that contained tons of information about the wedding process, timelines for important events and discounts for things that the package did not cover. (Tux rentals, dress…etc… All the things that no wedding planner can know up front due to the personal nature and unlimited possibilities). As the wedding date drew near, Becky not only assisted us with every step along the way but also provided the reassurance that every couple needs to feel confident that everything is going to be okay. Although there are times that you’d like to call her to go over details on the phone, her policy of primarily email communication makes it easy to go back and verify the things that you have told her or the numerous changes that you will most likely make along the way. On many occasions, I’d send an email out and get a response within minutes, which helps you realize you are a top priority. One of the main reasons that Becky was able to provide us with our dream wedding has to be the connections she has made while planning weddings over the years. She had us work with David from Bamboo Bakery in Phoenix. (Again you save money, because he waives the cake tasting fee for Becky’s clients) We met with David and told him what we wanted our cake to look like, which was an ocean theme and he put together the most beautiful cake I have ever seen. It was exactly what we had pictured in our heads, only better. Becky also works with a DJ named Jeff from DirectSoundsDJs. We had a very hectic schedule as you can imagine, but he was willing to meet with us late in the evenings to help ensure that the music we had for the wedding would make the experience memorable. My husband and I choose the Wedding at the Casa package. We had 35 guests, a DJ, appetizers, cake, photographer, decorations, officiate, and horse and carraige all for a more then reasonable price. She did set-up and take down. I had a candy buffet and she set it up just how I envisioned, same with the favors I made. She also asked for my input which I liked a lot.DJ:The DJ she hired was great. We gave him a list of bands we like and he came up with the perfect playlist. The songs were mixed with some dance beats, but not too bad to where it sounded like a club, but enough to allow people to sing along and dance to it as well. Our age group for guests was from 17-65 and everyone was on the dance floor. One thing though we didn't rent the dance floor and just used the walk way and it worked great.OFFICIATE:I wish I could remember the Pastor. AJ (my husband) and I were so excited and nervous we had tunnel vision and kinda only paid attention to each other, but since Becky hired him I know he was good. ENTRANCE:The horse and carriage were a beautiful touch that surprised everyone, not to mention the ride for the bride and groom afterwards was a nice breather to settle nerves and relax before the reception. FOOD:I didn't really eat the food, but my husband loved the miniature tacos! The leftovers she packed up for us to take and enjoy at our hotel. There was fresh veggies and cubed cheese. FLOWERS:The bouquet was pretty, wish there was a little red in it, but it was still beautiful and honestly a tiny aspect of the wedding as a whole, so I really am not going to complain. And it also could have been the fact that I didn't know what I wanted to begin with. The bridesmaids had a single white rose, and the groomsmen had one large rose with a small rose as a boutonniere. They were all very well made, and lasted the whole night.DRINKS:The bartender kept everyones drinks flowing, we had beer and wine. PHOTOGRAPHER:The photographer was a little tense at first, but as he saw that AJ and I were not strict with certain pictures he loosened up and even tried out some new shots. We are going to be recieving our CD of photos in the mail soon and we are excited to see them. From what he showing us at the wedding he got some very pretty shots, but also some shots showing our fun goofy side, and well with some great action shots.CAKE:The cake was beautiful and delicious to boot! She also put rose petal all around the cake to add an extra pop of color.VENUE:Now the venue. The house is perfect for small intimate weddings. The house has a country theme with decor to match. Both AJ and I were nervous at first in that the venue would be too casual looking, but Becky and the staff turned it into a romantic setting that fit our idea of heaven perfectly.I was a bride that never planned a wedding or dream of how I would look, so I went into this a complete empty vase ready for advice. Becky never lost patience and was always willing to offer advice when I needed it. She was a doll to work with and all our guests spoke very highly of her and how nice and professional she was.I can't express enough how great she made our day. We had our wedding on 4-16-11 in Fountain Hills. Weddings can be so overwhelming and there is so much to do, however Becky made everything go smoothly. She was very easy to work with. I was married on 11-27-10 and would like to say that Becky and her professinal, yet very personable staff at Wedding On A Budget absolutely made that day truly special beyond what any words could describe. I would recommend Wedding On A Budget Az. to any of my friends, family and collegues. We are very pleased with the service offered from Becky at Wedding on a Budget! She coordinated the wedding for my son and daughter-in-law and it was beautiful. They got married at Fountain Lake in Fountain Hills, AZ. Becky and her staff coordinated everything--the flowers, photographer, horse and carriage, chairs, reception, set-up, clean-up, and staff. It was all very affordable yet elegant and beautiful. Becky is also fun to work with. She listened and incorporated all of our ideas as well as made suggestions. You can tell she loves what she does and really cares that the day goes well.

Becky seemed nice, but just a little bit scatter brained at first. It quickly turned into being nearly impossible to get a correct quote from her. She was very unprofessional; I've had years of experience in customer service, so I try to be forgiving towards people I do business with, since I understand what it's like to be on their side of things. She agreed to do things, but then wouldn't mention it in the quote. When I would ask, sometimes she wouldn't even acknowledge the question I actually asked. I was pretty flexible on all of the details, so when she would go back on her word, I just let it go. I was ready to put a deposit down immediately, but she didn't take credit cards at the time, because she was switching from paypal. She agreed to take half of her normal deposit, until she was able to take a credit card for the rest. We never even got to give her the deposit, because of a week of going back and forth. Her site used to say "Appetizers with cocktail hour OR Buffet with beer and wine bar". I asked a few questions about this, and kept not getting a straight answer. Finally, she actually responded to me with "LOL, the appetizers come with a beer and wine bar too...you can upgrade to a full bar though". As if I was asking a ridiculous question, even though it said that on her site. I didn't speak with her for 3 weeks (we ran into some financial trouble, and wanted to wait for a friend to confirm their wedding went well with her), and even though we were in contact steadily for over a week, and I had already told her that we wanted to get started and give her the deposit, when I told her we were ready, she raised the price 30%! I sent a nice email asking if this was intentional, and mentioned that I would hope she would have intended to also let me know that she would be doing this, if we didn't act immediately, as a common courtesy. She responded by once again just avoiding my question, and just stated that we have a year to pay for it, so it shouldn't be a problem! We were already planning on paying monthly, and she was well aware that we are paying ourselves, and could already barely afford the total. After the price raise, we actually had to just look elsewhere, even though our hearts were already set on the It's all so romantic package. I was so disappointed that I cried. She was a terrible business person, had horrible grammar and was completely frustrating. I'm still disappointed that we weren't able to have our wedding there, but there was no way we could pay all that extra money for the same package we already worked out. I actually have another friend that was using her, and she had the same issues. She was so displeased that she canceled, even though she already paid a non refundable deposit. I have to also say that I know another woman who had a very nice experience, so please just proceed with caution!

Becky; I just want you to know that you are the most passionate loving person I could ever meet. You go above and beyond most people and you deserve the absolute best. Your absolute heart and soul goes into each and every wedding and bride/groom. You are always looking at how you can possibly fit their wedding dreams within their budget and for that you are amazing. Your #1 priority is to make sure they have their fantasy day come true. I love you and am so proud to know you! You are and will be blessed! God will bless you..... as you bless others just to be in our lives!!

Thank you so much for everything you did for us. The wedding turned out amazing. You did such a great job in putting everything together and in such a short period of time. Becky, thanks so much for putting our wedding together with such a short notice and from me coming from Austin TX. I said I wanted a romantic wedding..you put it togehter and pulled it off....I didn't have to worry about anything...From the limo,to the venue, and we can't forget the cake. Jeff and I took it back to our room and couldn't stop eating it...yummm
