Special Moments Catering & Events

I used this caterer through Villa Tuscana reception hall. They did a fabulous job. There was a variety to choose from and the menu was exactly what I requested. Some of my guests said it was the best wedding food they'd had!

Special Moments has great food, great service and a fantastic attitued at working with (crazy) brides!! They provided us with two antipasto trays for when we were at our venue getting ready - and they tasted amazing. Our appetizers were served right on time during cocktail hour. Our salads were already plated when we all came into the reception, and they plated my meal and my husbands so we would have time to eat while everyone else went through the buffet line. They worked with our schedule and service was seamless... I didn't even realize they were there - which is a good thing! I definitely recommend using Special Moments!

We chose Special Moments to be our wedding caterers. Leading up to our wedding, we were very happy with our communication with the company. We went in twice for different tasting options as we were unsure what we wanted and needed another opinion. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and never made us feel uncomfortable. However during the wedding, The service staff appeared completely lost. As the bride, I had to get up several times and direct the service staff to my guests who ordered special plates. Prior to the wedding I sent over a seating chart so that there wouldn't be any miscommunication. I was very irritated to spend my dinner hour getting up and redirecting both my guests and the staff. In addition, we were promised that the caterer would prepare a special plate for us to be in our get-a-way car. That way, we would have an option to eat later if needed. Since I was too consumed with directing the staff during dinner, I didn't eat. I remember thinking that it would be fine because my plate would be packed in the limo and I'd eat later. Unfortunately, we never got our plates packed and therefore I left my wedding starving. It was so annoying. Because of the incidents at the wedding I would NOT recommend Special Moments. I had been very pleased with their staff prior to the wedding, but it was just a complete disaster at my wedding.

I really found this vendor to be very good. The only reason they are not receiving a full 5 stars is it went a bit rough in the beginning with getting the right estimates in on time and correct for what we asked for. Other than that, they were absolutely wonderful. The food was a huge hit at the wedding and they are very willing to make it whatever you want it to be. Highly recommended!

The customer service was GREAT up until the wedding day. I was told time and again that they would bring enough food for 100 people (I had 96 RSVP yes). On the day of, I had 7 no-shows and that brought the total down to 89. THEY RAN OUT OF FOOD...per my guests! Even though they totally screwed us over on the portions they ran out of food. I was so embarrassed and I am certain I will never hear the end of it. No one from Special Moments has contacted me since the wedding to ask how they performed. I should have gone with my other catering option.

Overall we had a great experience with Special Moments. The staff was phenomenal and more than courteous with the guests. We had several guests come up to us and mention how nice the staff was with the serving of the food. The only minor issue I had was that I originally requested a stuffed chicken with Ricotta cheese and the evening of the wedding Chicken Picatta was served and not what I originally requested. My only concern was that if they did not have the dish to call me and ask me what we wanted as a substitute or to confirm the dishes we chose. It was not something that upset me, I just wish the communication had been clarified. They sent us home with "to go" boxes- which we loved and everyone raved about the mashed potatoes and how polite the staff was.

Special Moments was wonderful when we went to taste test their food. Unfortunately, however, the food did not taste quite the same at our wedding event. The green beans with almond slivers were canned green beans and the garden salad was iceburg salad at best. On the other hand, they were absolutely fantastic about working with my family's and bridesmaids dietary restrictions (vegetarian and gluten-free). They even went so far as to list each and every ingredient used in each dish which was very helpful.

Special Moments Catering is unlike any other catering company in Arizona.... They think of the little things no one else does. For example, they put a take-home box in our car for us to enjoy later in the hotel, they plated us so we had a few brief moments to eat before everyone else finished their plates, they have a separate buffet line for kids with acrylic plates, etc. Brad Taylor and everyone we dealt with was AMAZING. From the moment we met Brad we knew we wanted Special Moments to cater our wedding. He worked closely with my husband and I to give us exactly what we wanted within our budget and checked in with us the day after the wedding. By far our favorite vendor- would recommend them to anyone!

Brad and his staff at Special Moments were absolutely wonderful and ideal. They catered our wedding at The Waterfront in Tempe, and Brad couldn't have been more professional and helpful. We are so grateful for such an awesome experience. It really played a big part on our wedding day! The food is very, very delicious. When we went for our taste-testing, we had a hard time choosing which menu items to have at the wedding, they were all so good. The day of the wedding, they were on time, professional, and all of the dishes were just as delicious. We can't thank Brad and his staff at Special Moments enough!

My daughters' wedding was last weenend and we were very pleased with the service and quality of the food. We worked with Brad, and he was awesome in planning. We would definitely recommend Special Moments Catering for a wedding or any other event.

They were affordable, flexible and personal. I couldn't ask for more.

This vendor was part of our wedding package. I can say that this was by far, the best we had ever been treated by a vendor (aside from our pastor). Brad was amazing and the food was delicious. My husband and I had a formal tasting and were able to sample what we wanted. Brad didn't hover over us while we were tasting either. He set the food in front of us, explained all about the dish, then left us to taste and discuss. It was an all around fantastic experience for us both.

Special Moments was very flexible in offering menu options that would work for our reception and some particular guests. The food was great and the portion sizes were very generous.

Special Moments Catering was one of my biggest regrets in including them in my wedding day. Brad Taylor, who is director of sales, let me down! Our food was cold, all of it! They also ran an hour late serving the head table where the bride and groom sat. It was also the first table to be served! My DJ had to try and play trivia games in order to kill time. When we confronted the company, all they did was point fingers at us. They said we were late starting, that they had to clean up after people later in the night and questioned are complaint about the cold food saying that "how could it be, there is steam coming from it!" Numerous guests mentioned that the food was cold which is embarrassing! Your wedding food is one of the most memorable things and it sucked. We also used their bartenders. That was also a mistake! They blamed the guest also! Said everyone was out of control and a few bottles got broken. Brad assured us that his bartenders are very responsible and do not over serve. The bar was on the patio where all the drinkers were all night! They used every excuse in the book to blame us and my guest. They blamed us, my guest and the few bottles that got broken on their COLD, LATE food! When we confronted the company after the wedding, we got no refund for the food. Lucky for them, they ask for payment in full before the wedding day. We got screwed! Brad never even called to apologize to me (THE BRIDE) who throughout the planning process traded emails with me on a regular basis! I will never use this company again and I suggest that you do not either. I will always regret it and always remember my COLD food on my wedding day! Special Moments Catering will talk a big game and say that they are the best, when truly they are not! Very unreliable, unprofessional and so disappointing!!!

I can not say enough good things about this caterer. We originally booked another caterer that went out of business. Special Moments and another caterer agreed to honor what we had booked with our original caterer if we booked with them. We chose Special Moments because they treated us like people and not like this was just another business transaction. I am so pleased we chose them. They treated us, our parents, and all of our guests like royalty. We've heard so many people compliment the taste of the food and the incredible service they received at our wedding. I don't think any other caterer comes close to what Special Moments can offer a bride and groom.

Special Moments is fabulous! They catered my rehearsal dinner and wedding. Both events were wonderful! Their entire staff constantly made sure that everything was going well and that my husband and I had everything that we wanted. I loved the extra steps they took to make sure my wedding was perfect. For example, they made sure the bridal party had appetizers to eat after the ceremony, packed up to go boxes for my husband and I to take to our hotel room, and us to take all the leftovrs home with us. They were kind, polite, and professional. Their prices are the best I found and the food was absolutely delicious.
