I got married six months ago and fully believe that hiring a photographer is the most important decision a couple can make when planning their wedding. Other things may seem more important but after the day itself was over, what you have left are pictures and Jason at Illume Photography is hands down the most amazing photographer a couple can hope for. Jason is fantastic to work with. He not only made the experience for my husband, me and our family and friends SO much fun, he also made everyone feel really comfortable. In fact, aside from the family portrait time, I hardly noticed Jason was there because he wants to capture real moments, not posed shots. The result? The most incredible pictures and keepsakes. I also can't speak more highly of Jason's artistic ability and really, gift, for creating albums. He has the most unique vision for taking pieces of pictures and different shots and combining them in ways that truly tell a story of our wedding. We interviewed and met with other photographers, but we immediately clicked with Jason and I'm so glad we did because while the wedding is over, we'll have his gorgeous pictures and amazing album forever!!Rachel & Dan

I could not have asked for or found a more perfect photographer. I live in Virginia and my parents live in AZ, where we were wed. We learned about Jason from our florist. He was the only photographer my mother interviewed and Steve and I did not meet him until the day of the wedding. The photographs were more than I could have asked for. Jason and his assistant were fun and professional and helped everyone make the most of our wonderful wedding. I simply cannot say enough good things about iLLume Photography.

The single most important part of selecting the various wedding vendors was the photographer. I have boxes and boxes of pictures at home. Every minute of my life is documented and stored somewhere in my garage in one of many, many boxes. Illume was the first stop on my list, and little did I know would be the last. I walked into the studio and it was like a museum for me. I didn’t want to leave; I could have looked at the pictures all day long. I met with Jason and I knew this was it. We got along so well and had a lot of laughs before we even started to talk about the specifics. I knew that he understood how important the photos were to me, and I knew he would absolutely capture every detail to really make the memories last a lifetime. The more photos he showed me, the more excited I became. I couldn’t wait to see my wedding photos, and the wedding was still a year away!! I spent many hours looking at all of the wedding photos on the Illume website. The expressions and moments which Jason captured were amazing. The pictures were so natural and genuine; they really captured the emotions of the people in them. What was your favorite wedding photo?: Do I have to pick one??? As a general statement - probably most of the photos where I wasn't looking at the camera. The candids captured so many incredible expressions, feelings, and emotions. How did the wedding photographer avoid disrupting the day?: Great with candids? Action shots? Portraits? The only disruption I can think of is when Jason caught me on the dance floor to tell me they were leaving. I was so bummed! I wanted him and his crew to stay all night! To me, picking the photographer was the single most important part of my wedding. The only time I really knew any of them were there was of course during the formal portraits. Aside from that - they were all like "secret agents" capturing every move we made on camera! Looking back at the pictures - I saw so many shots where I had no idea my picture was being taken! What was included in your wedding photo package? Albums? DVDs? Engagement pics? Two photographers?: Jason was so flexible! He offers a few different wedding packages - each with the opportunity to substitute a few things here and there. We ended up with the things we wanted the most. Albums, prints, the photo slideshow, more than 1 photographer. We weren't confined to each thing in the package and end up with things that weren't as important to us as others were. How did the photographer make you and family comfortable?: Within the first few minutes of meeting Jason, there wasn't a question about how comfortable we all would be with having him and his team there at our wedding. Our personalites just clicked. Jason is easy going, laid back, professional - but doesn't take himself too seriously. To me, those qualities were great and I knew I was making the right choice.

Amazing! Everything was simply perfect! Would not go with anyone else. Beyond helpful, answers questions quickly without making you feel you're bothering him. Jason is flexible to make things work for you. One thing I won't forget was when my DH's Mom was starting to fight with us, I simply said "Jason", and he moved us along avoiding the fight. Jason also captured and helped me with the surprise engraving in my DH's ring. I never knew he was there, but he always was. He got a group photo of my friends that someone was taking because he was there. Outside of detail photos, most every photo has either my DH or myself in it, I cannot say that about a lot of my friends photos. He works with the other vendors on timelines. Funny quote from a comment on a friends photo that had Jason in it, "Your photographer puts Batman's utility belt to shame.... But nice picture!". Cannot say enough great things about Jason and iLLume, they are worth every single penny!!

Illume Weddings Photography is great to work with. Jason is wonderful and we got some of the most amazing photos. Our wedding album is also wonderful, Jason and his team are very easy to work with and makes everyone feel at ease. They're the best! Our wedding photos turned out better than we'd hoped they would - natural and beautiful. Illume was able to catch our most memorable moments.Asside from the photos, they were so easy to work with and made taking photos part of the fun. And, after the party was over, they helped me to create the perfect album.Truly a one-stop high class shop!

Jason used the incredible Colorado skyline to get many gorgeous photos of us at sunset. The Illume team used their creativity to capture shots unlike any I have seen by other wedding photographers.The Illume team blended into our group just like one of the guests. They were respectful, inconspicuous and moved around the guests to get their shots. All of our guests commented on how professional and easy it was to work with Illume both during posed and action photos.The Illume team officered many packages for us to choose from. Some packages did include engagement sessions, for us that was not important to Jason traded that for a credit towards our prints and albums, we appreciated their flexibility in creating a package that worked for what we wanted.Illume was amazing at making our group feel comfortable, they were friendly, professional and allowed for the family to take breaks and relax while keeping us to the schedule. They did a wonderful job of coordinating photos and making it fun.

Illume Photography is amazing, numerous times have people commented that they have never seen a wedding album as beautiful or professional as the one Jason Millstein provided for us. It cost more than what we initially wanted but when we saw the product and realized that most of the other costs that go into the wedding are forgotten or consumed the photos are what will last forever we were sold. I canÂ’t possibly pick a favorite photo from our wedding day- maybe it is the one with me and all of my bridesmaids in a private moment before the wedding when I was not even aware that the photographer was there. . . or it could be the close up details of the cake, the rings, the small parts of the wedding that seemed to go by so quickly and now are captured forever. . . or maybe just the genuine smiles that were captured.Jason and Rachel were always there, but never there. Never intrusive, I felt confident that every moment was being captured without feeling like I was constantly posing for the camera. None of the photos look posed, despite having all of the requisite family and bride groom photos.We have a BEAUTIFUL album for our coffee table that I always enjoy looking through on my own, and that friends and family always comment on. We were given a cd with all of the digital photos that has been wonderful to have. Very flexible personalized packages.You will not find a more down to earth photographer than Jason. Get ready to have fun, and break all the stuffy "wedding photographer" stereotypes.
