Classic Cakes and Confections

My experience with this amazing business was all around exceptional. I knew right away that they had been in the wedding industry long enough to know everything there is to know about cakes. Most important, they are the kind of vendors that want to get to know you as a person and a bride, not just a customer. I had planned to get quotes from other vendors but after I met Ella for the 1st time, I knew that I wouldn't find another bakery that provided the following 3 things: A high quality product produced from start to finish by the very capable, artistic hands of Ella and her team. Phenomenal customer service, no matter what kind of budget/vision/request I had. The 3rd and most important for a bride, peace of mind. It was a "piece of cake" to trust her advice with the years of experience and knowledge she has in the wedding industry. CC&C impressed me from the very beginning and they made my wedding cake as perfect as I imagined it. It was delicious, memorable and "me". I wouldn't recommend any other bakery in the phoenix area to future brides.

Ella did an amazing job on our cake. We were able to schedule our tasting the same day that I called, and after seeing her work and reasonable prices, we booked her that day! She came up with several designs for us to think on, and even hid little Mickey Mouses in the design especially for me. On the day of the wedding, the cake was gorgeous and she had a surprise for us, she did the hand quilting instead of the stencil! Ella and her husband really care about their clients and want to make sure everything is perfect. Since we ordered our wedding cake, we have ordered a birthday cake and 2 dozen cupcakes for various occasions. Every time the cakes are beautiful and beyond delicious! I am still getting compliments and requests for more wedding cake a week later. Very moist and flavor, and not too sweet. My husband and I do not like too rich or sweet desserts and her buttercream is perfect!

So this actually wasn't for a wedding cake - it was a specialized cake to celebrate an employee's 25-year anniversary with our company. However, I found these reviews helpful when looking for a vendor so hopefully this will help. Ella was great - we sat down and came up with a few designs which I took to my supervisors. They approved one and from there it was really easy - I just coordinated via phone and e-mail and the cake was delivered on time and made a huge hit. The cake was delicious - we got red velvet and cream cheese and it was moist and tasty. While I usually hate the taste of fondant, this one wasn't too bad (although still not my favorite part of the cake:), and it wasn't overpowering with the rest of the cake. I would definitely recommend Classic Cakes and Confections!

We chose to have both our wedding cake and the groom's cake made by Classic Cakes. BEST DECISION EVER! Their design team did an excellent job incorporating the details from my dress into my cake and my husband's cake was a 3D Kyle Field (Texas A&M football stadium). I knew from the moment we booked his cake that it would upstage mine at the reception and it did, but it was well deserved because they did such an amazing job on it! People were buzzing all about it. Best thing is, not only are their cakes beautiful, but they're delicious! Our wedding cake had a bottom tier that was amaretto with chocolate filling (the best chocolate filling I've ever tasted) and four upper tiers that were lemon with raspberry filling. My husband's cake was red velvet. All of the flavors are right on and both cakes were very moist. My husband is a foodie who loves red velvet cake, but is often disappointed when because they tend to be dry. Not at Classic Cakes! He said it was the best red velvet he's ever tasted. The cake was less then satisfactory- dry and bland and frosting was oily. I did not enjoy the cake at all and many guests only comments about the cake was "It was pretty"- which it was. My cake was included in the Biltmore package otherwise I would have gone with Barbs Bakery or Let us eat cake. The tasting was nice although we left knowing we didn't like the cake. The owner is obviously passionate about her work and the artistry was great but I'd rather it taste good. I had extremely limited contact with the bakery so responsiveness and professionalism was given maximum stars. As for flexibility she wouldn't even change the colors of fondant on the cake which seems like an easy enough request.

Ella definitely knows what she doing when it comes to wedding cakes!!! She helped us create our dream cake with from a horrible sketch we provided her. Not only was it exactly what we wanted, but the flavors itself were to die for!! We had every other layer a different cake and they were great!!!! I loved the red velvet and my husband loved the strawberry!! So fresh!!!

I had first seen and tasted a Classic Cakes & Confections creation at a Bat-Mitzvah I attended last year in Scottsdale. The cake was artfully done and the taste amazing. So much so, that I had contacted them from Montreal, Quebec, Canada and asked if they would make my wedding cake. After a many designs, many phone calls, and dozens of emails with Ella and Neil- we finally locked in on our dream cake and flight arrangements were made. Both Ella and Neil arrived the Wednesday before the wedding and went to work creating our 7 tier, masterpiece. The cake was an exact replication of what we had designed, and by far the most beautiful cake I had ever seen. The over 1000 handmade sugar flowers were so real looking people couldn't believe they were edible. It truly was spectacular and the talk of the town for weeks! I highly recomend them to anyone who demands the best!

Ella and her team are fantastic. Every moment from the tasting to the wedding day, I had complete trust and confidence that she would execute my vision and it would be delicious. WOW! That is all I have to say about the cake Ella created for my New Year's Eve wedding. When I first tasted Ella's cakes, I was sold. I knew the cake would be absolutely delicious, so I just had to decide on the look of the cake. She ended up creating the most beautiful cake--perfect for the occasion and that reflected my vision. The cake was situated right when you walked into my reception, so all the guests could see it. It was truly part of the decor because it was so beautiful! I was extremely pleased with our wedding cake. It was soooo beautiful and absolutely delicious! Everyone at the wedding kept telling us that it was the best cake that they had ever tasted. My husband and I will have another topper made for our one year anniversary. Can't wait to taste that cake again! Also, Ella was a pleasure to work with. She was very professional and made our cake exactly as we requested. I would highly recommend her to all future brides!

Ella was one of my favorite vendors to work with. Ella and her staff are pros at the wedding business and they made this part of wedding planning easy and really enjoyable. They were one of the preferred vendors for our venue and after reviewing all of them on wedding wire we chose them. When my husband and I went in for our tasting, they let us try so many flavors and to top it all off we washed it all down with champagne (fancy :)). It was hard to pick a flavor because they were all fantastic! On the wedding day, our cake was exactly how I imagined it and yet it still took my breath away. Classic Cakes was a great vendor to work with!

We had not even heard of the Classic Cakes until a friend told us 'you HAVE to try them' and we're sure glad we did! They were the first place we tasted and my finance was ready to sign up immediately. BUT I wanted to 'make sure' so I drug him to two more tastings ONLY to confirm what he already knew - - you just can't beat Classic Cakes! Not ONLY are they beautiful to look at, they taste amazing! EVERYONE at the wedding loved both the wedding cake AND the groom's cake. Many of them told us afterwards that when they entered the reception site ALL they could smell was CHOCOLATE (the groom's cake). They didn't even want us to open the main buffet - - just to START with the cakes. I brought some of the wedding cake to my office after the wedding and folks talked about it for a week! Our cake was wonderful! The decorations and last minute changes were handled perfectly. But the best part was eating it!

For our wedding, we had Classic Cakes make it for us and it was AMAZING! You go to their offices / bakery, you can see them preparing cakes, look at portfolio, get to have a consultation with Ella, and they don't disappoint. Tastings were great too - amaretto,strawberry, spice cake, etc, etc. They are very professional, know how to deliver - they are on time, and get done what they say they are going to get done. Really top notch all around. Very professional, yet fun, and not stuffy. They are worth it.
